the sanqiao underground wwtp is a sub-project of the nanming river water environment management project in guiyang city. located at the intersection of sanqiao south road, gaicha ditch and sanqiao ditch, the underground plant has a capacity of 40,000 t/d, treating wastewater from sanqiao maowangmiao in the watershed of shixi river. after the completion of the sanqiao underground wwtp, wastewater in the gaicha ditch will be discharged into the shixi river after being treated by the plant, thereby reducing the pollutant concentration of the sanqiao ditch and reducing the pollution caused by the shixi river to the nanming river. it can also share the burden of erqiao wwtp, and reduce the pollution of the gaicha ditch.
“the underground design saves a lot of land. after the sanqiao underground wwtp is completed, the ground area will be returned to the bus company for parking.” wang yang, project manager of cweg guizhou sanqiao underground wwtp said that in densely populated areas, building traditional above-ground wwtps is difficult due to the shortage of land, and the underground design can solve the conflict between the shortage of land and the high urban environmental requirements of surrounding areas.
according to wang, the underground structure of sanqiao underground wwtp is vertically divided into three parts, namely the ground area (including sanqiao underground wwtp comprehensive management area, fire exits to the ground, vents and sanqiao bus station), sanqiao underground wwtp operation layer (floor b1), and ponds and inspection layer (floor b2).
“at present, 75% of the project has been completed. now we are working to build the high-efficiency sedimentation tank which is expected to come into use on september 30.” wang yang said that in order to build the high-efficiency sedimentation tank as scheduled, a total of 150 workers had been working in three shifts, to ensure uninterrupted construction 24 hours a day. sanqiao underground wwtp is scheduled to begin its trial operation on september 30.
