       on october 20th, the second season of "pomegranate blossom", a program of mango tv dedicated to china’s decisive year of victory in the fight against poverty, was broadcast online. with the theme of "wind, flower, snow and moon with happiness", it tells the story of the people who lived on the shore of the erhai lake and kept the mandate in mind to protect the “mother lake”.
       “pomegranate blossom" was produced by mango tv under the special guidance of the publicity department of the cpc hunan provincial committee and the internet information office of the hunan provincial committee, with the special cooperation of the hunan provincial ethnic and religious affairs commission. by recording the work and life of the people of all ethnic groups, it shows the great achievements made by the people of all ethnic groups in the 70 years since the founding of new china under the good policies of the cpc central committee, and the spirit of unity and progress.
       zhang liangtao, who grew up by the erhai lake, is the deputy director of the dali ancient city underground wastewater treatment plant of cweg, a subsidiary of the state development &investment corporation(sdic). as the plant is responsible for the sewage treatment work in the area including dali ancient city, liangtao and other colleagues have to ensure the stable operation of the wastewater treatment plant standards, while the inspection of the pipe network in the area is also their daily work. to make sure the production and domestic sewage around the lake are all collected and treated without any drop of sewage directly into the lake, they keep busy around the village courtyard, the fields, and every shore of the erhai lake.
       along the shores of erhai lake, there are five other underground wastewater treatment plants, many erhai lake guardians like zhang liangtao, who, with their professionalism and enthusiasm have built a solid green ecological barrier to protect the "mother lake". during the covid-19 outbreak in 2020, countless front-line erhai guardians gave up the opportunity of reunion with their families, resolutely held fast to their posts. they adjusted plans accordingly, eliminated danger, and spared no efforts to guarantee the stable operation of the wastewater treatment plant and pipe network, thus building an important line of defense which guaranteed the ecological and environmental security of erhai lake and the surrounding residents.
       the protection of the erhai lake requires the efforts of many people, which needs to be accumulated bit by bit. “the missions we do, maybe not be known by many people, but the mother lake will know." zhang liangtao said.
       in 2018, november: the overall water quality of the erhai lake is class ii, the first time to achieve class ii since 2015.
       in 2019, the water quality of the erhai lake has been maintained at class ii for 7 months throughout the year, and the protection and management has achieved milestone results.
       up to now, the overall water quality of the entire lake is classⅱ for 6 months in 2020, while the sea cauliflower- "water quality touchstone" of the erhai lake is in full bloom once again.
