on the morning of oct. 14, 2017, the construction kick-off meeting for the national engineering laboratory “advanced treatment and utilization technology for municipal wastewater” took place in beijing university of technology. cweg chairman hou feng, vice president shao yanqing, and pang hongtao, deputy general manager of beijing technology r&d center under cweg, were invited to attend. cweg jointly unveiled the opening ceremony with the beijing university of technology, harbin institute of technology and other construction partners. the meeting was attended by more than 100 participants, including liu gonghui, president of the beijing university of technology, xie hui, party secretary of the beijing university of technology, qu jiuhui, academician of the chinese academy of engineering and professor at the research center for eco-environmental sciences, chinese academy of sciences, ren nanqi, academician of the harbin institute of technology, ni jinren, academician of the perking university, peng yongzhen, academician of the beijing university of technology, and other leaders from competent departments, representatives of construction partners, as well as experts of the national engineering laboratory’s technical committee the national engineering laboratory “advanced treatment and utilization technology for municipal wastewater” is the only laboratory in municipal sewage treatment in china, and its first technical committee is made up of 6 academicians including professor qu jiuhui and 10 top industry experts. according to hou feng, who is also the vice president of the national engineering laboratory’s council, cweg will, as always, give its full support (e.g. in terms of talent, capital, base construction and industrial transformation) to the construction of the national engineering laboratory, and leverage its own advantages to help build the laboratory into a world-leading engineering and technology r&d platform through the joint efforts of other construction partners, so as to drive china’s municipal sewage treatment technology advancement and industrial upgrading.
